CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2011 TED PRIZE WINNER: JR

We saw JR's work on the Quai d'Anjou in Paris, & another exhibiton & installation in Paris last year.  I have been a fan of his for some years.
"JR exhibits his photographs in the biggest art gallery on the planet. His work is presented freely in the streets of the world, catching the attention of people who are not museum visitors. His work mixes Art and Action; it talks about commitment, freedom, identity and limit."

Reconfigures the concept of "art/exhibit," doesn't it?

Thanks for the comment Jer. Actually , JR also reconfigures Urban ART (which has , by the way, revolutionized ART)!

Very talented person. Love the colors & the 'construction' of the building.

Bev, JR's "construction" is in Rio, the "Favelas" where the poor live. He photographs 3rd world Women. Isn't his work wonderful!
Thanks again,
Rivian

I see a connection with JR and Christo and Jeanne-Claude. The use of large art forms to re-create a vision of what we "know" is a grand perspective that works. I applaud new ideas like this, and I enjoy seeing the use of pushing the envelopes.
