Faith Fleury, Photo Transfer, Mixed-Media
I have been teaching ART & DRAMA for so many years , it has been one of the most rewarding parts of my entire life!  I have had the honor of working with  many talented students from all levels. I taught children of all ages when I taught at the ART Museums in La Jolla & San Diego, & my  own school THE MAGIC OF ART in the 1980s. I taught middle grade children @  SPRING VALLEY JR. H.S, MANN M.S, CORREIA M.S, Wangenheim M.S, & Older students @ UNIVERSITY CITY HS  I miss those students and if any of you reading my BLOG were in my classes or know someone who was, please let me hear from you!
For the past 8 yrs. I have been teaching @ my studio & @ The ATHENAEUM, Park & La Jolla Studios.  I would like to (again) showcase some of these fine artists in this & the next postings.
WE WOULD LOVE YOUR COMMENTS ON THEIR WORK, THANK YOU, RIVIAN

CAROLYN MARSDEN, NEW BOOK LAUNCH

NEW BOOK LAUNCH: MEXICO, JUPITER, SUBMARINE: How I Became a Writer
Exploding volcanoes! Harrowing escapes! Ouija Boards and Gong Gong on Jupiter. UFOs, auras, and fairies. Jules Verne’s submarine, under the sea and on Mars.  The Beatles as a Communist plot.  And the way all of this led to my resplendent writing career.

THE CREATION PROCESS
As I began MEXICO, JUPITER, SUBMARINE, I tumbled into the unknown. With big pieces of paper, scraps of this and that, found objects, cheap paint, and glue, I set out to write and illustrate my odyssey. I loved the trial-and-error, the feeling of free fall. What I created made me laugh. I was encouraged and supported in my efforts by my wonderful art teacher, Rivian Butikofer.

HOW TO GET IT
MEXICO, JUPITER, SUBMARINE is only available in digital format-- through i-Books for your Apple device.  It will soon be available in the Kindle Fire.
Please note: I am proud to say that Carolyn Marsden has been my student for some years.  I love her books, (which my Grandson Elijah & I read) I adore her ART in her latest books!
