I hope that you wll take time to look at all of the work, perhaps visiting the Blog more than once.

Some of the work is for sale, some Artists are open to commissions. Please contact me with inquiries about size & media,. If the piece is for sale you will see a price listed, or perhaps you would like to see more of an artist’s work, feel free to .request contact information.

FAITH FLEURY

Art has always been a passion in my life: one of my earliest memories is creating new colors from my Crayola 8-pack by overlaying one shade with another!

After a career in high tech corporate finance, I decided to focus on further developing my artistic skills and learning new media. These days I mainly work in mixed media and acrylic painting, creating both representational and abstract pieces. I enjoy exploring various effects using form, texture, rhythm and color relationships to express my subject.

In my creative work, I’m interested in process rather than technique; seeking the pure creative impulse arising from the authentic self rather than the analytical mind. Influenced by the power of archetypical imagery and natural forces, my art tends toward darker emotional explorations while maintaining optimism through the use of a bright palette.

RALPH LAZAR
Why do I do art? I’ve been compelled to do it since I was a kid in grammar school when I drew grasshoppers on the margins of biology reports, cartoons in school newspapers and throughout the years attending the Chicago art institute,in college and as an industrial designer applying aesthetics along with function to products. I challenge myself working in various mediums such as oil, acrylics, pastel, watercolor and as presented in this exhibit, cut paper/mixed medium collages.

I love a good story. Travel has led me to real and imagined stories. What’s behind those craggy, lined faces? The exotic and colorful headwraps? Pieces of those travels drift back to me and become mixed-media creations of paper, bolts and screws, magazine bits, dried paint blobs, collected-fabrics. I pull those pieces together in mixed-media creations of  stories. Examine my art and you'll find an integration of special handmade papers, bolts and screws, torn magazine bits, dried paint blobs, collected-fabrics, photos, keys, feathers. No, it's not junk. When put together through my eyes, the pieces connect to become art-stories out of my imagination and maybe yours.

JULIANA VERSARI

In my work I use mixed media and acrylic paint, creating small whimsical spaces that represent a story. Most of my stories explore themes around finding inner peace, exploring relationships with nature and using symbols to represent deeper meaning. In my shadow boxes I use the small confined space to represent a moment in time, in the same way that a snowglobe captures a small environment that evokes feelings of nostalgia and connection. In my work I also explore the concept of "home", what is the place that makes you feel most at peace whether physical or emotional. My intention is to create these small environments that help the viewer connect to nature and feel at peace.

HANS BUTIKOFER

Thanks to the encouragement & guidance from my teacher, (my Wife), I started drawing and painting 10 years ago.
Looking at & copying the Masters, such as Modigliana, Picasso & Schiele has helped me to focus on my personal expression..
I like to work on wood as well as canvas and other surfaces, & have constructed  several pieces of furniture utilizing my paintings that I am proud to see used in our home.    Sometimes I start a painting without knowing exactly what to do and hence end up with portraits like these!

INDIA & HER KARMA, THE PEOPLE, THROUGH MY EYES part 1

WOW! I can't believe that it's been over one year since I last posted!  Little did we know that 2020 would bring the devastation to the world that it has! Well, don't worry, I am not here to talk about the Pandemic!
I only mention it because ....how can I not? I hope that my photos of India will take your mind off of the virus, even if for a short while, & that some of the wonderful Karma that I experienced & brought home with me will pass on to you!

Moving on: In January, 2020 my Husband Hans & I made, probably the most memorable trip of our lives, INDIA!  Hans had hitchhiked through that part of the world a lifetime ago, however, it had always been my dream to see one of the most spiritual places in the world, so as life would have it, we went in January.....just in time! I have to say that this expeience was life changing for me. You hear this expression often don't you? Well, I don't use it lightly!  India, with her lovely smiling people, spectacular monuments, ancient 250,000 year history, vibrant culture & color everywhere, affected me more than any other single experience of my life!

So, friends, "Pictures speak louder than words" & boy! do I have pictures!  In fact I have published a beautiful book of our trip to India, &, if after seeing some of my photos you are interested in having your own copy, please inquire by e-mailing me@ 4choux@sbcglobal.net

So, I hope that you enjoy 'INDIA & HER KARMA, THE PEOPLE, THROUGH MY EYES'

Please stay well!

Love,

Rivian xxoo

BTW, How would you like to take a mixed media ART ON LINE class with me? I have a new session beginning on Oct.21 &/or 23rd.  Pls. e-mail for more info.
